ASKLEPIOS Course: Women’s Imaging

COURSE INFORMATION:


This course is aimed at senior residents, board-certified radiologists and fellows interested in women’s imaging. It is articulated on imaging strategies for breast and pelvic pathologies. Special focus is given to the latest cross-sectional imaging techniques in the detection and staging of breast, cervical and ovarian malignancies. Internationally renowned European experts ensure a high quality-teaching programme combining lectures and interactive case discussions
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:


  • to convey in-depth knowledge of breast cancer imaging and breast screening mammography
  • to discuss state-of-the-art imaging approaches, using breast US elastography, digital breast tomosynthesis and breast MRI in the detection and characterisation of breast cancer and in the imaging of the axilla
  • to review interventional procedures of breasts under imaging guidance
  • to review imaging protocols for female pelvic imaging, and potential pitfalls in imaging
  • to refresh knowledge of pelvic inflammatory disorders
  • to present an update on current imaging protocols for the detection and evaluation of the cervical and ovarian cancer
